New Out-Of-Town Policy:

Since SCPA has shifted to a split-weekend format for Championships, it has been nearly impossible for out-of-town groups to attend. The Board has now voted to waive the Prelims weekend for out-of-town World class ensembles only. This will allow out-of-town PSW & PIW groups to attend Finals. Our policy of "no minimum shows for out-of-town groups" is still in affect as well.

Presidential News:

Today, the Southern California Percussion Alliance salutes the accomplishments of its president, Pete Ellison, who will be stepping down from his position on the SCPA Board of Directors in order to dedicate more time and energy towards the further development of his company. As such, the Board of Directors is pleased to announce the election of a new president, Caleb Rothe, effective May 8, 2008.

The board would like to thank Mr. Ellison for his incredible commitment and dedication to the growth of the indoor percussion activity in our region over the past ten years. Pete was a founding member of the Southern California Percussion Alliance and has been an invaluable asset during his tenure as president. On behalf of the entire community we offer Pete our most sincere thanks and appreciation for all that he has done. We also wish him the absolute best in all his future endeavors.

"I am honored to have been appointed our new president and to continue to carry on the legacy of Pete," said Rothe. "I look forward to continuing our circuit's tradition of excellence, and also look forward to helping our organization continue to grow and thrive as we move into our second decade of existence."

New 2009 Registration System:

Starting in the Fall of 2008, SCPA will be 'paperless'. All applications and forms of payment for entry fees will now be solely on-line. This will require either a credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express & DiscoverCard) or PayPal account. This will do away with any sort of mail or processing delays that we've had in the past. Stay tuned for more details.
